Most tuna species are highly migratory species and are found in equatorial, tropical and some temperate latitude in all oceans of the world. For Princes Tuna being based on the island of Mauritius and in the heart of the Indian Ocean then the large majority of the tuna we source is caught locally.
Most of this fish is landed in The Seychelles which is where the fishing fleets are based most of the time and we transport the fish in refrigerated vessels to Mauritius.
We do buy some tuna from other oceans including the Atlantic and Pacific from time to time but this is usually to satisfy the specific requirements of certain customers that cannot be met from more local sources.
